Colombia will be the hosting country of the World Jiu Jitsu championship to be held at Evangelista Mora Coliseum in Cali from October 14th to 16th. It will be a qualifying championship for The World Games 2013. Arturo Soler, the President of the Colombian Jiu Jitsu Federation, recently met with TWG2013´s Sports Committed headed by Jose Luis Echeverry to finalize details relative to this championship.
This is the second time that the World Jiu Jitsu Championship moves out of Europe. The first time was in Uruguay in 2002 with participants from 23 countries. On this occasion the championship will count with the participation of approximately 300 athletes from 35 countries. It will also hand 26 gold medals.
Soler indicated: "The hosting rights were granted to Cali in the past World Assembly held in Russia. It was possible because Cali will host the 9th edition of The World Games in 2013" Soler also said that many governmental entities are joining forces to achieve an excellent championship and to show the friendly side of Cali and Colombia.
